Lotje’s Little Christmas Stockings

Lotje’s Little Christmas Stockings can be made with any kind of yarn and any kind of hook size! I would suggest to use the size of the hook that is described on your yarn label. Depending on the size that you choose, the size of Lotje’s Little Christmas Stockings may vary.

Used yarn:
100% acrylic (100gr – 238m) yarn in the colors green, white and red

Used Hook:
3,5 mm

Stocking measurements for the used yarn and hook:
10cm (4in) long

Used stitches: Single Crochet,  Increase Single Crochet, Double Crochet, Slip stitch, Front Post Double Crochet, Reverse single Crochet

Special Abbreviation:
Magic Ring, Front Post Double Crochet, Reverse Single Crochet

Crochet pattern:

MR – Magic Ring
SC –
Single Crochet
INCsc – Increase Single Crochet (2x single crochet in the same stitch)
DC – Double Crochet
FPDC – Front Post Double Crochet
REVsc – Reverse Single Crochet

 

1. Make a MR with 10 SC
continue working in the round, use a stitch marker to track each round. 
2.  INCsc in each stitch around (20)
3. – 11. SC in each stitch around (20), chain 1, turn your work around

Making the Heel:

(Optional: Change the color)

12. SC in the next 10 stitches, skip the rest, chain 1, turn your work around
13. – 17. Repeat round 12.

Your work should look like this:

Cut the yarn leaving a bit longer tail for sewing the back side of the heel.

(Optional: Change the color)

18. Attach the yarn on the first skipped stitch from round 12, and continue working in rounds
SC in each stitch (going over the side of the heel with 5 stitches on each side, and the rest of the work, like it’s shown on the pictures) (20)

19. – 29. SC in each stitch (20)

Your work should look like this:

Making the Top of the socks:

(Optional: Change the color)

Turn your work around (front side is now inside of the stocking)

30. Chain 2, DC in each stitch, slip stitch into the top of the chain to join the round

Your work should look like this:

31. *FPDC, DC* – repeat *-* until the end of the round, slip stitch into the top of the chain to join the round

26. Chain 1, REVsc in each stitch, slip stitch into chain 1 to join the round, cut the yarn and fasten off.

Your work should look like this:

Fold the top of the sock and sew the opening on the back of the Heel:

Making the Hanging loop:

Attach the yarn on the middle of the back of the stocking;

Chain 18
– slip stitch in the same stitch where you attached the yarn, cut the yarn and fasten off.

Weave in all ends… and that’s it!
